Revel Steptoon: A Bold New Direction in Pontoon Performance

Correct Craft has launched a new brand, Revel Boats, and their first model is the Revel Steptoon. This boat is designed to push the boundaries of what a pontoon can do, focusing on hull innovation, performance, and handling.

Traditionally, pontoon boats are known for relaxed cruising and comfort. The Steptoon, however, aims to combine that familiar stability and space with a more advanced, hydrodynamic hull design.

Notable Features

Step Hull + Pontoon Hybrid

The Steptoon uses the Revel Tracking System™ (RTS), which brings step-hull geometry to a pontoon platform. This is intended to reduce drag, increase lift, and improve fuel efficiency, while still providing the flat, stable ride typical of pontoons.

Performance

Unlike many pontoons that are limited to moderate speeds, the Steptoon is built to handle high-performance outboards. The hull design, with advanced chines and lifting strakes, is meant to help the boat plane quickly, corner sharply, and minimize bow rise. This should make it more versatile for activities beyond slow cruising.

Layout and Amenities

The Steptoon offers modular deck layouts, upgraded helm stations with touchscreen controls, and a range of trim and upholstery options. Factory options include ski tow bars, sound systems, and sunshades. The boat is clearly aimed at buyers who want flexibility for socializing, water sports, or fishing.

Brand Background

Revel Boats is a new division of Correct Craft, a company with a long history in the marine industry (Nautique, Centurion, SeaArk). With Revel, Correct Craft is targeting the growing market for performance-oriented pontoons—boats that offer both comfort and speed.

Impressions

The Revel Steptoon stands out for its attempt to rethink pontoon design. The step-hull approach is unusual in this segment and could offer real benefits in speed and efficiency. The modular layout and premium options are in line with what buyers expect at the higher end of the market.

For boaters who have found traditional pontoons lacking in performance, the Steptoon is worth a closer look. It’s too early to say how it will compare to established models in real-world use, but the design and features suggest it’s a serious entry into the performance pontoon category.
